- X. EYEE grew up in Richmond, CA, as one of eight children, with parents who were drug addicts. Their first job involved criminal activities, putting them at risk of prison time, but they were fortunate to enter a program to clear their record by age 18.
- A church member offered them $1,000 to read through a book, leading to X.EYEE learning how to build websites.
- X. EYEE earned a GED while working two dead-end jobs and then enrolled in community college before being advised to join the military.
- Following community college, they began attending UC Berkeley, but were deployed to Afghanistan, where they interacted with advanced technology.

- X. EYEE notes rapid tech growth present from 2000-2020 occurred behind the scenes, but with the development of AI like ChatGPT made public, we’re witnessing tech becoming more accessible and affordable.
- X. EYEE’s drive to educate others about AI is rooted in their Afghanistan experience, emphasizing storytelling’s role in shaping reality and viewing tech as the magic of our time, while expressing concerns about the collective future.

- X. EYEE points out the challenges journalists face in covering AI due to its complexity and stresses the necessity of regulation and policy to protect people.
- They cite Europe’s actions in enforcing privacy policies and holding companies accountable, proposing that similar measures be implemented to ensure responsible AI development.
- Currently there were 17 laws passed in California that put boundaries around AI use and privacy, but there is still more work to be done
